On 1 January 2024, a law came into force in Hungary that offers a 2-year guest investor visa and a 10-year guest investor residence permit to non-EU citizens who make one of the following investments in Hungary:

1. acquisition of investment units of at least EUR 250 000 issued by a real estate fund registered by the Hungarian National Bank,
2. acquire ownership of a residential property in Hungary with a value of at least EUR 500 000, or
3. making a financial donation of at least EUR 1 000 000 to an institution of higher education maintained by a public trust with a public-service mission.

Family members who base their application on the same investment also receive residency for 10 years.

These investments enable visa-free travel to Schengen countries and open many other opportunities for investors.
